we_protect_each_other: "the only difference is, i would have stuck the landing... let the world burn. but you didn't." (casekiel)
Hello Author!

Thank you for writing something for me. If you're interested in doing art as a treat, I welcome that, too!

I divide my letters into general preferences that apply broadly to my fannish experience and prompts which have to do with the specific fandom requests. If there ever seems to be any tension between a specific prompt and a more overarching preference or a DNW, please feel free to consider that the prompt overrides any tension if it helps.

My prompts are guidelines, and while for this exchange it might be strange if you completely ignored them since there's so little guidance otherwise, feel free to consider them quite flexible. I want you to enjoy what you're creating rather than writing by numbers. ♥

Preferences

For any fic requested for this exchange, I am equally happy with a story focusing on gen, team, found family, or romantic dynamics. You can focus mostly or entirely on the set of characters from one fandom dealing with the world of another or you can include a mix of the casts of each, wherever appropriate. If you choose to focus on a romantic ship, you are welcome to include other characters as friends, supporting cast, etc. If you want to focus your fic on one character's solo adventures, that's good, too!

Since there's no character or ship matching, I'm trying to be super flexible while providing you context for the people and ships I like the most. If you are vibing with any pairing or grouping I have provided, feel free to focus on... basically any character individually or literally any gen (&) interaction you can think of, even for characters I have not named, especially if it's with a character I named.

Please note that my DNWs are not a value judgment on anyone else's preferences.

NSFW

If you have reason to include smut or anything like that, feel free to be as detailed or fade-to-black as you like. I enjoy sexuality in stories when it contributes to the character development of a character or ship. Therefore, I don't have highly specific preferences for kinks usually. I mostly want it to ring true to the characters are you are writing them as long as it stays within my DNW limits.

I do like sex pollen or aliens/magic made them do it tropes if the characters are already attracted to each other and they deal with the consequences or aftermath of the dubcon aspect of that, if it suits your story.

Agents of SHIELD ⤏ Type Moon

SHIELD could be a secular, American-HQ answer to Type Moon's Holy Church organization, dealing with magical and supernatural 'threats' and anomalies to "protect" everyday people. I am interested in this because of the way in which AOS kind of got bogged down with being obsessed with Hydra being more-Nazi than the rest of the MCU wanted it to be, among other things, and I would find it refreshing to have a similar dynamic but with new threats, settings, and organizations for the characters to interface with.

I would love to see a case fic where they are dealing with a nefarious mage.

I would love to see a fic where a Servant is the equivalent of a superhero sort of trashing a town and the interaction and aftermath involved.

I would love to hear about the politics involved in SHIELD being the above-described answer to the Mages Association and the Holy Church. You could even do an equivalent to the Hydra Uprising in the Type Moon universe, however you see fit.

Type Moon Universe ⤏ Agents of SHIELD

The extent to which you want to interpret Agents of SHIELD as its own thing or a coherent part of the MCU is up to you. I don't have as much of a well-formed idea for this, but I would love to see what you come up with.

I would love to see a fic that dealt with the idea that Servants | Ghost Liners were the universe's equivalent to superheroes or that they were something that ran alongside them. I would love to see how the SHIELD team dealt with this if they already have to deal with the Avengers and their counterparts or if the Avengers was a team comprised of Servants and magi somehow.

I would love to see a fic where some of the Type Moon characters became SHIELD Agents if SHIELD is truly an international organization. How do they cope with this? Are they a part of a team together or do they meet some of the AOS characters?

If you wanted to focus on the psychics and serial killers sort of plot and focus of Kara no Kyoukai, then perhaps one of the AOS SHIELD characters or Inhumans is targeted by a serial killer or is a serial killer and that turns into... stuff. Or are the psychics Inhumans?

Chronicles of Narnia (Movies); Shadow and Bone (TV); Avatar: The Last Airbender - Fic/Crossover, Fic/Fusion

Chronicles of Narnia

Content Warning: This particular canon prompt mentions incest as an option but not a requirement. Skip to the next horizontal rule to avoid elaboration.

Characters: Lucy Pevensie, Edmund Pevensie

Ships: Lucy Pevensie/Edmund Pevensie; Susan Pevensie/Prince Caspian; Susan Pevensie/Peter Pevensie; Susan Pevensie/Prince Caspian/Peter Pevensie

Gen Ships: The Pevensies as ordinary siblings/family; The Pevensies & Prince Caspian; The Pevensies & Eustace; Lucy & Edmund & Caspian & Eustace & Reepicheep

Elaboration on Incest Prompts: I am interested in this primarily as something which is acknowledged as taboo to the extent that it interacts with their own time/world but which made sense particularly in the Golden Age of Narnia. After all, they were greatly isolated from humans for a long time, and even when they discovered that there were other kingdoms with significant human populations, I would imagine that they would have seemed almost alien to them. If it is included, I feel like it is a bittersweet, messy thing, and I welcome acknowledgment of the taboo or an acceptance of it, either way.

Shadow and Bone

Characters: Alina Starkov, Aleksander Morozova, Mal Oretsev, Inej Ghafa, Kaz Brekker, Jesper Fahey

Ships: Alina Starkov/Aleksander Morozova, Alina Starkov/Aleksander Morozova/Mal Oretsev, Inej Ghafa/Kaz Brekker; Inej Ghafa/Kaz Brekker/Jesper Fahey

Gen Ships: Any gent combination of the above ships or characters; Alina & Zoya

Avatar: The Last Airbender

Characters: Katara, Zuko, Sokka, Aang

Ships: Katara/Zuko, Katara/Aang/Zuko; Sokka/Suki; (future/older) Sokka/Toph; Azula/Ty Lee

Gen Ships: Katara & Sokka; Azula & Zuko; Sokka & Toph; Aang & Sokka, Zuko & Sokka; the Gaang in general

If you go a shippy route for any of these characters, I am most interested in something with a somewhat post-canon vibe.

If you want to mix all three together, go for it! I am just going to prompt for the combos of two, and you can mix and match.

Chronicles of Narnia & Shadow and Bone

Small Science and/or Magic open a portal between these two worlds and Caspian and the Darkling are faced with their doppelgangers. I would love to see a plot develop out of these two very different characters being at odds. Feel free to have it be the kind of story where virtue and life lessons triumph on the side of the Narnians or one where sheer power makes everything a bit darker and more "grown up" for all involved.

If Grisha exist in Narnia, perhaps almost all humans in Narnia are Grisha. Does coexisting with so many other magical things empower them or nerf them? What does this mean for society and politics?

What if the Pevensies had come into the world of Shadow and Bone instead of Narnia in the first place? That would be a bit of a cruel twist given that it is yet another world at war, but what if they were orphans alongside Alina and Mal? Or what if they grew up elsewhere in the world and met some of the SAB characters later? Are any of them found to be Grisha? If they are not 'special' in any way, how do they still impact the world around them?

Optional Thematic Note: I always thought that Edmund and Lucy were presented in a similar light/dark contrast and complement as Alina and Aleksander. Do with that what you will, if anything.

Shadow and Bone & Avatar: The Last Airbender

So, ATLA is largely based on a world where the four nations draw inspiration from the Pacific Rim/Asian nations. We know that Alina is part-Shu according to the show, but the show does not elaborate or show other Shu. SAB has a somewhat diverse cast, but they seem to be a culture mostly based on Russia and British Imperialism. I think it would be very interesting to interpret them as always having been a part of the same world and that "bending" and being Grisha are different cultural interpretations of the same thing since they seem to basically operate in... exactly the same way with Grisha just having a few more customization options.

What if Alina learns more about her heritage on the Shu side? Or, really, any of the characters interacting on the basis of this premise. Aang and the Darkling fight and the characters associated with them ally or fight as a result. (I don't want any major character death, but I am mostly in-favor of the Darkling being taken down a few pegs and learning that he needs to make nice and atone instead of being murder-happy.) How does the Avatar being on the other side of the/a war change things?

If you would prefer a more crossover approach, I would be interested to see some kind of magic portal situation bringing a character or a handful of characters from one world into the other. As mentioned above, being Grisha and being a bender seem extremely similar, but I would love to see the culture shock and clash. What if Alina saves the people on her side from Aleksander's intentions by accidentally bringing him into the ATLA world? Then they are both stuck there. Alternatively, what if Aang accidentally abandons his world again, with or without company, and must find his way back while everyone in the SAB makes on over him as a new saint they'd like to keep? If that happens, maybe some of the Gaang are trying to get him back from their 'side.'

Chronicles of Narnia & Avatar: The Last Airbender

I think it's canon that Narnia is a 'flat earth' world, and we only ever see the ATLA map as 'flat' and don't know whether they live on a globe or not. I only bring this up, because the idea that they coexist on opposite sides of a globe or divide in the same world and always did is interesting to me, so that might be something you could reconcile/assume/change. As mentioned in the previous prompt set, Narnia seems to be comprised of a handful of different ethnic extractions of humans, but there aren't any Asian or Pacific Rim nations represented as far as I can remember. I am mostly familiar with the Narnia movies, but I am somewhat familiar with the books, too.

I would love to see Narnian interaction with the ATLA nations. Perhaps it is after the resolution of ATLA when the Fire Nation is no longer an aggressor and those nations are able to focus on exploration and diplomatic contact with those beyond the borders of their previously known world. Another idea might be that the Fire Nation had imperial intentions that reached all the way to Narnia, well before Zuko was born and while Aang was on ice, during the Golden Age of Narnia. Then, when the Pevensies return sometime later or Caspian begins his reign, they learn that the Fire Lord has been defeated.

Some kind of wedding feast or celebration if you want to do shippy fic of any kind whatsoever brings some of these characters together from far and wide.

If you want to keep both worlds separate and so a more traditional crossover approach, perhaps some of the characters find that little dimensional pool place that is introduced in The Magician's Nephew and find the other canon world through that. In that case, since magic and gods and things exist in Narnia while the bending culture has spirituality and reincarnation but it does not seem to be magic per se, I would love to see some philosophical exploration about that. And, of course, what if the Pevensies had that kind of culture shock instead of going to Narnia at all? More from the above prompt about the irony of them having fallen into yet another world at war. Plus, they'd be white British kids in a world with very few or no white people if Narnia is not already part of the same world. Especially given that, if the Pevensies do any heroics I would like for it to be in concert with the canon characters and not instead-of.

The 100; The Expanse - Fic/Fusion

The 100

Fandom-Specific DNW: Endgame Clexa (but acknowledging that it happened is fine). The fic also doesn't have to be shippy at all, but I just don't really like that as an endgame and don't like how it was handled in the show.

Characters: Clarke Griffin, Bellamy Blake, Raven Reyes, John Murphy, Wells Jaha

Ships: Bellamy Blake/Clarke Griffin; Raven Reyes/John Murphy

Gen Ships: Clarke Griffin & Wells Jaha; Raven Reyes & Bellamy Blake; John Murphy & Bellamy Blake; Raven Reyes & Clarke Griffin

The Expanse

Fandom-Specific DNW: Punishing Alex, the character, for the sins of the actor. I'm aware of the badness, but Alex didn't do it. If anything, it'd be healing to read about the show version of Alex rather than to have to look at the actor and deal with that dissonance.

Characters: James Holden, Naomi Nagata, Amos Burton, Alex Kamal, Camina Drummer, Bobbie Draper

Ships: James Holden/Naomi Nagata; James Holden/Naomi Nagata/Amos Burton; James Holden/Naomi Nagata/Amos Burton/Alex Kamal; Amos Burton/Alex Kamal; James Holden/Naomi Nagata/Camina Drummer

Gen Ships: Avasarala & any of the above-mentioned characters; Bobbie Draper & Naomi Nagata; Naomi Nagata & Camina Drummer; James Holden & Camina Drummer; Amos Burton & Alex Kamal

The 100 & The Expanse

To be honest, the later seasons of The 100 just baffled me with their whittling down of the main cast and their readjustment of the plot to the point that the title of the show no longer had any relevance whatsoever. The fact that they screwed up the Earth so badly that they had to leave it behind in the context of that universe just seemed laughable, too. But then again, something similar happens in The Expanse. I thought that it might be interesting if these two canons met either to mitigate the damage of each other or to make everything worse. Alternatively, for some of the characters of one to have always existed in the universe of the other.

I would love to see any of the listed characters or sets of characters from The 100 to have been born into the universe of The Expanse instead but to then know each other with similar character dynamics. How does that work? What are they dealing with in their lives? What are their jobs, backgrounds? Are some or both or all of them Belters? On the overpopulated Earth instead of a largely pruned one? Are some of them Martians? And then, of course, I'd love it if they intersected with any of the canon characters of The Expanse if you see fit.

Alternatively, what if the Roci crew were on the Ark or were part of a space program that was a bit more expansive (pun intended?) before the Earth was deemed uninhabitable. With or without the teenage delinquents, I would be interested to see how they got along if they were a sort of advance guard going back to Earth. How do they interact with any of the Grounder cultures? What do they find out about the Earth?

What if canon carried on for both series until some major cosmic event caused a sort of scifi melding of universes? For example, there is that weird idea that instead of dying, a person might hop into another universe to avoid death. What if that happened on a solar system scale? They both screw up so badly that they get rewritten into a universe where they coexist and must figure out what to do with that.

Agents of SHIELD; Leverage; The Librarians; White Collar - Fic/Crossover, Fic/Fusion

Agents of SHIELD

Characters: Skye | Daisy Johnson, Grant Ward, Raina, Jemma Simmons, Melinda May, the original SHIELD Team Six, Antoine Triplett

Ships: Skye | Daisy Johnson/Grant Ward; Jemma Simmons/Leo Fitz; Skye | Daisy Johnson/Jemma Simmons; Skye | Daisy Johnson/Antoine Triplett; Skye | Daisy Johnson/Antoine Triplett/Grant Ward; Raina/Skye | Daisy Johnson/Grant Ward

Gen Ships: Skye | Daisy Johnson & Antoine Triplett; Skye | Daisy Johnson & Jemma Simmons; Skye | Daisy Johnson/Melinda May; Grant Ward & Antoine Triplett; Raina & Skye | Daisy Johnson; the original SHIELD Team Six; Grant Ward & Kara Palamas

Leverage:

Characters: Parker, Eliot Spencer, Alec Hardison

Ship: Parker/Eliot Spencer/Alec Hardison

Gen Ships: the whole team or Parker & Eliot & Hardison

The Librarians

Characters: Cassandra Cillian, Ezekiel Jones, Jenkins

Ships: Cassandra Cillian/Ezekiel Jones; Cassandra Cillian/Ezekiel Jones/Jake Stone; Eve Baird/Flynn Carsen/Jake Stone

Gen Ships: Eve & Ezekiel; Jenkins & the LiTs; Jenkins & Ezekiel; Jenkins & Cassandra

White Collar

Characters: Neal Caffrey, Peter Burke, Elizabeth Burke

Ships: Neal Caffrey/Peter Burke/Elizabeth Burke; Peter Burke/Neal Caffrey (only if in your story Elizabeth doesn't exist or never met Peter)

Gen Ships: Neal Caffrey & Peter Burke/Elizabeth Burke; Neal Caffey & Mozzie

If you want to cross over or do a fusion of more than two, feel free to mix and match these prompts!

Agents of SHIELD & Leverage

At one point, Daisy leaves SHIELD and does some Robin-Hood-ing crime out of grief. I would love to see her join the Leverage team as a result, later in life, or instead of ever having joined SHIELD at all. If you are doing a shippy fic, I would for for Skye | Daisy and her partner(s) to break with the whole SHIELD and Hydra mess and to find this as a way to do good. Does the rest of the SHIELD team pursue her/them or do they accept her new life?

One of the Leverage team members is an Inhuman or otherwise develops a superpower. SHIELD intervenes to try to "welcome wagon" them, but the Leverage team isn't going to be split up by an external force. Who develops what power? Do they all develop powers? How does this impact their lives? Do they have a good or contentious relationship with any SHIELD Agents they meet?

The Leverage team wake up one day in a different reality for some reason. They try and steal something to fix what went wrong and SHIELD intervenes. What happens next? Do they go home or opt to stay in the AOS world? Alternatively, someone from the AOS world escapes or falls into the Leverage world in which there are no or far fewer superpowers. Maybe they get a chance to start over, heal, redeem, atone, or whatever else they need to do.

Agents of SHIELD & The Librarians

If you go the fusion route, I would love to see a fic where Agents of SHIELD takes place in The Librarians universe instead of one where the MCU exists. Instead of dealing with containment and control over primarily superpowered people, maybe SHIELD was formed to deal with magic and its effects on the world. It could be a rival organization to the Library. How does this impact what a case fic looks like? Do the teams from these rival organizations become forced to cooperate in spite of vastly different operational philosophies?

One or more of the AOS characters are called to be Librarians instead of becoming SHIELD agents. This seems like it might fit Simmons (and Fitz, if you'd like him to come). This could be that the character was born into that universe or that they coexist, however you like. They can also coexist and interact with the canon characters of The Librarians or not.

The LiTs are SHIELD Agents instead and they meet any AOS or MCU characters you see fit. They work with them. Does one of them become a mole? If so, can the other LiT characters bring them back form the dark side or does it become far more dramatic? If this happens, do one or more of them have superpowers instead of magic? Or with magic?

Agents of SHIELD & White Collar

Any AOS character is an FBI agent instead of a SHIELD agent. Whether SHIELD exists in this universe is up to you. They become the handler of one of the other characters who is deemed a criminal. (For example, this could go either way with Skye | Daisy and Ward as to who is the FBI agent and the criminal. This seems to be the easiest set of characters for this, but any and all characters you like can be used.) Does the criminal lure the agent to fall from grace or does the agent provide the criminal a chance for stability and redemption? Or both somehow? They could also interact with Peter and Neal if it is a parallel situation instead of a replacement for it.

Peter Burke is a SHIELD agent who looks remarkably like Senator Ward. Did this happen as the result of a mistake similar to why Kara Palamas looked like Melinda May for a while? Is it because he came to the AOS universe from another universe and must grapple with the fact that he has a fairly evil Republican counterpart? Neal and/or El could be with him on this ride, natives to the universe with him or not. Does one of them become a superhero?

Canonically to the AOS universe, SHIELD coexists with the FBI. Assuming that this is the world that Peter, Neal, and/or Elizabeth all existed in in the first place, I would love to see how they react to learning that the world is a lot more complicated than it first seems after alien invasions and superhero fights start happening around the world with a much greater frequency. How do they come into contact with SHIELD? Is there jurisdictional grandstanding with any of the AOS characters? I would love to see them all be thrown out of their comfort zones and to be forced to work together.

Leverage & The Librarians

One thing that made me love The Librarians was how it followed the same formula as Leverage in terms of its cast construction. It felt homey, and it also provided a great deal of fun to imagine them as parallel universes to each other, especially given that Eliot and Jake are played by the same actor. I would love to read a fic where they are parallel universes that intersect because of some kind of magical accident and Eliot and Jake get to meet. Parker and Cassandra and Ezekiel and Hardison are certainly not quite the same kind of parallels, though it is true that Parker and Ezekiel are both thieves. I would love to see what would happen through a completely chance encounter. Go crazy.

If Leverage and The Librarians universes have always been the same one, how do the Leverage characters respond to learning that magic is real? I pet Parker would be somehow both excited and unfazed, but the guys I'm not so sure about. Do any of them get to interact with magic? Conversely, I would love for the LiTs to get involved with the Leverage crew because Ezekiel is a thief and has a very specific set of skills the Leverage crew needs. A team-up heist sort of thing sounds fun.

You could do one or both of these scenarios: What if the characters switched places? That is, the LiTs became a mundane world of highly skilled good-hearted criminals, and the Leverage characters are called into the Library?

Leverage & White Collar

This feels like well-trod ground in terms of fics that simply assume they take place in the same universe, so I don't feel like I need to elaborate on that too much. I would love any fic that took that for granted and had the characters interact with each other. After all, the Leverage crew could easily get on the FBI's bad side, but when it turns out they're actually doing good, wouldn't Neal convince Peter to let his professional ethics slide a little further for the sake of what's truly right?

I would love to read a fic about any of the characters having had a prior acquaintance and interacting with each other. This might be the opportunity to write an epistolary/text messaging/emailing fic if that's up your alley.

What if Neal, Peter, or Elizabeth needed help from the Leverage crew? What happens with legal channels absolutely fail? I would love to read about the tension of that.

The Librarians & White Collar

I feel like Peter would want to retire yesterday if he found out magic existed. It's mentioned in the series that he's a lapsed Irish Catholic. Does that play into it? Wouldn't El and Neal both be really excited to learn that magic was real, if in different ways? Do they get to interact with magic when they learn about it? How do they come into contact with the Library?

Perhaps the FBI seized something that should rightly be contained within the Library? Or maybe that's standard procedure but someone (Cassandra?) feels that it should be exposed to the world? The FBI ends up involved because of dramatic conflict between the cast of The Librarians.

What if Peter was never able to catch Neal because he was conscripted into service as a Librarian, similar to Ezekiel, alongside the rest of the LiTs? If you want to do Neal on his own with the LiTs that'd be great, or you could have him come back into contact with Peter later. Then what happens?

Portal, Stardew Valley - Fic/Crossover, Fic/Fusion

Portal

Characters: Chell, Wheatley, GLaDOS

Ships: Chell/Wheatley

Gen Ships: Any including with any unlisted character

Stardew Valley

Characters: Any/All

Ships: Any but with the "player character," I'm fond of Shane, Elliott, or Sebastian, regardless of gender of player character. If you want to write about two of the NPCs, then I am interested in basically any ship, including if you want to have Krobus fall in love, or any of the marriage candidates have their own thing together. Seriously any.

Gen Ships: Any! Krobus has a special place in my heart.

Crossover Ship: Chell/Shane

Portal & Stardew Valley

Chell emerges from the Aperture facility at the end of Portal 2 into a wheat field. I love the idea that she could find Stardew Valley to be the place in which she emerged and, perhaps, the idea that Stardew Valley exists as part of a world that has recovered after an apocalypse from the one we know. Whether Chell is the farmer or is a character in addition to the farmer is up to you, though you'd obviously have to fudge on how she got the farm if that's the scenario. Maybe it's that she's found to have been related to a family who missed her all those years ago, a case of mistaken identity, or whatever other idea you can come up with.

Wheatley is orbiting the moon at the end of Portal 2 and has the desire to make amends with Chell. What if he crashes to earth and this gets mixed up in the goings on of Stardew Valley?

What if the Aperture facility was discovered by one or more of the Stardew characters and they have to fight their way out using their wits, together or alone?
