Dear Long(er)fic Writer,

I am failsafe.

Thank you for writing something for me! Especially given the nature of this exchange requiring a greater-than-usual commitment on your part, I will try to make my prompts as helpful to you as possible. Please do not let my prompts intimidate, hinder, or bore you. If you have a different idea with my requested character(s) that doesn't really harp on my DNWs, go for whatever you want, basically. My prompts are just guidelines to not leave you in the dark.

The order of my letter goes: dislikes, likes, fandom-specific prompts.

Dislikes: character bashing towards anybody, noncon, explicit gore, breathplay, serious or permanent injury related to sexuality, nihilism, hopeless endings (but sad is okay)

Likes: canon-typical violence, missing scenes, UST, emotional ambiguity, found families, developing or established relationships, time travel, pre-canon, post-canon, bedsharing, loyalty, worldbuilding, epistolary/journal/log fiction, monster-of-the-week / slice of ordinary life adventures, earned second chances, dealing with consequences, "what if" / canon divergent AUs, earned happy endings, holidays, casefic, groundhog day trope, mysteries, healing, survival (wilderness, zombie apocalypse, etc.), last stands, trying against impossible odds, succeeding against impossible odds, heartfelt goodbyes, unexpected reunions, foils

I did not pick 'Smut' as a genre, but I am comfortable with any rating or the inclusion of sexual themes or content. I simply do not really want PWP.



White Collar | Elizabeth Burke/Peter Burke/Neal Caffrey

Prompts:

- Neal, Peter, and Elizabeth all meet or interact together earlier than in canon. What would happen Peter and Neal or Elizabeth and Neal met first but time/circumstance/fate brought them all together anyway?

- Elizabeth and Peter are willingly drawn into a criminal scheme, probably for some good end that lies beyond the law. This could happen at a divergent point in canon or at some point prior to it.

- Neal is trapped in a perilous situation and must be rescued and subsequently comforted/nursed back to health and a sense of security.



The West Wing | Sam Seaborn/Ainsley Hayes, Josh Lyman/Donna Moss, Jed Bartlet/Abbey Bartlet/Leo McGarry

Sam/Ainsley

- They meet again during the Santos Administration, only to find that there is still a bond and a spark that may or may not be convenient.

- (The bitter about current events prompt.) Ainsley may not be ready to jump party lines, but she is horrified by the direction of her party in the present day. Sam is there to try and persuade her of what he's been trying to convince her all along. Perhaps they get involved in some kind of mutually-agreeable, genuinely helpful political action.

- Ainsley introduces Sam to something distinctly Southern. He reacts. (During canon/canon-divergent/etc.)

Josh/Donna

- Scifi Elements: Alien contact actually occurs. Josh cannot handle how Donna is reacting. Donna cannot handle how Josh is reacting. Do they come in peace, or is this a darker story?

- Josh and Donna butt heads in their respective roles in the Santos Administration. It has an impact on their relationship. (Happy-ish ending, please, but conflict welcome.)

- A fix-it fic about their getting together that maybe happens either earlier or with more gusto. I just never really felt all that enthused about how it happened in the show. Donna seemed a bit less like herself at that point in a way that didn't simply come from her growing in her confidence in her professional experience, to me.

Jed/Abbey/Leo

- Leo is in need of medical care, Jed is very reasonably worried, and Abbey is the only person around to help. (Canon-compliant, scifi elements, pre-canon, whatever you like.)

- A fic about how they got to know one another. Canon-compliant or divergent. Getting-together or a canon-addition about how they ended up in a polyamorous relationship. The only thing I don't want in this fic is a negative kind of infidelity for Leo in his previous marriage. Either write it out earlier or have it have happened differently, etc. Consensual extramarital is fine if that's what you want.

- I forget when they all met if it's addressed in canon but a fic of them all knowing one another and being politically active in their 20s would be great. Butting heads, bonding, accidental embarrassments, unexpected kisses, you know those kinds of things.



Crossover Fandom | Neal Caffrey & Peter Burke (White Collar) & Alec Hardison & Parker & Eliot Spencer (Leverage), Barry Allen (The Flash)/Kara Danvers (Supergirl), Clara Oswin Oswald (Doctor Who) & James "Bucky" Buchanan Barnes (MCU)

Neal & Peter & Hardison & Parker & Eliot

- A heist, a la Ocean's Eleven, that Peter must participate in as well.

- Neal has some kind of prior connection to any or all of the Leverage characters, finds out one of them is in need of help, and gets roped in. Whether he tries to keep it from Peter or shares it with him, to get Peter involved, is up to you.

- Parker and Hardison are using their FBI covers over the course of a job and get in over their heads. Peter is an actually-competent FBI agent who shows up, helps them, and is none the wiser. Neal knows who they are from reputation. What happens?

(Any of these fics may be entirely platonic or team-fic, but if you want to include ships I like Neal/Peter/Elizabeth (even if Elizabeth is off-screen) and Parker/Eliot/Hardison.)

Barry/Kara

- Barry is trapped, forever, on Kara's Earth. He has to adjust to the fact that he can't do anything about it, and Kara is there to help. Slow burn (to whatever extent you are comfortable) or impulsive hurt/comfort and working that out afterward. Optional: Barry is trapped because he lost his powers somehow. (If you do past Barry/Iris, I just want Iris to have a chance at being okay even though she'd also be sad/grieving. Like, just don't belittle it. OR, ignore it and have Iris be with Eddie or something if referenced.)

- Survival horror blended with canon elements. Just make the horror mild enough not to involve permanent dismemberment, excessive gore, or nihilistic implications.

- Kara has to move to Barry's Earth (maybe around S1 when Barry is considering trying to just let Iris/Eddie be and move on) and is a fish out of water. Barry meets her and they become fast friends and maybe something more.

Clara & Bucky

(I nominated this, so I picked Clara & Bucky to give the most flexibility. If you want to write Clara/Bucky instead, I haven no objection, but I am not specifically requesting that either. Whatever you feel like!)

- Bucky's date in Captain America: The First Avenger was one of Clara's Echoes. Canon-divergence about what happens next with whatever elements of the movie you want included. Does Clara's Echo follow to Europe? Is the Doctor involved, even in the background? How does this impact Bucky's fate?

- Bucky cannot remember a lot of what he has been specifically trained not to remember, but he thinks Clara looks really, really familiar (even if the Echo thing isn't involved).

- Clara becomes a superhero, too? (Modern or Echo/40s.)



The Flash | Barry Allen/Iris West/Eddie Thawne

- A fix-fic where Eddie has a different fate. If this fic works around his death altogether, great. If it includes his death but, in comic book media fashion, fixes it, that's great too!

- Earth-hopping/changing complication where Barry isn't the only one aware that it's happening or of the changes being made. Either Iris or Eddie or both become aware of this and they must respond accordingly.

- Iris or Eddie have powers in addition to or instead of Barry.
