Dear NPTimer:
Thank you so much for writing something for me (AO3: failsafe)!
My likes and dislikes are basically the same for every exchange, but I'll list them here.
Likes: Domesticity/slice of life/dealing with everyday issues and problems, character study, missing scenes, thoughtful alternate realities/what-if/canon-divergence AUs, UST/pre-relationship tension, action/adventure, traveling/vacation, hurt/comfort, partnerships, constructive confrontation with positive resolution (let them fight about something that needs to be addressed and then let them resolve any hurt feelings, that sort of thing), tasteful erotica if you like (kinky or vanilla), cuddling, pillow talk, realistic use of social media where applicable/appropriate, banter
Important dislikes: character bashing (even when a fic explores, for example, why Ship A is working but Ship B is not/did not, I don't want other-character from Ship B to be defamed unnecessarily), graphic depictions of rape/irresponsible narrative handling of rape, gratuitous violence (though any kind of violence is fine if it is contextually appropriate), bloodplay, breathplay, nihilism, hopeless endings (but sad ones are okay)
You can see my
tumblr for more stuff about me, but only if you want.
Here are some specific prompting thoughts about each of my requests (you can ctrl+f for the fandom you matched on/are looking for!):
Captain America (Movies)Request #1: Characters: Steve Rogers, Natasha Romanoff
I would be very happy with either shipping-fic or with gen/friendship fic about them. I am really enthusiastic about both interpretations of this relationship.
I really enjoyed that it was suggested that they had social contact of some kind or another prior to
The Winter Soldier, and I would love to see pre-movie elaboration on that. Anything that takes place in the time between Avengers and TWS might be fun!
A run-in on the search for Bucky, too, might be fun. I honestly have very little knowledge of the comics in this particular area, but I know that Bucky and Natasha have a pretty important relationship int hem that seems to have been foregone in adaptation. If you happen to be someone who enjoys that and would like to amalgamate the two, you absolutely may.
I also like Steve/Natasha/Sam as a team dynamic and/or an OT3, if that kind of thing interests you.
Request #2: Any Character(s) Just a note: I would prefer
not to have explicitly romantic/shippy fic about Steve/Sharon or Steve/Bucky--that said, including relationships between them is A-OK!
I put in this extra request not only because of the above mention that I also like the notion of Steve/Sam/Natasha but because I would love to receive basically any character study fic or gen-relationship fic for any of the nominated characters.
Perhaps something about Natasha and Fury's relationship, how he seems to trust her so much and how it affects her when he doesn't.
Sharon's relationship with Peggy. Or anything. Anyone. I just want her to have a full presence and life.
You can also do any and all Steve/Peggy stuff or Peggy's relationships with others at literally any point in her life.
Steve/Sam on its own is also good. Gen or shippy, again. Part of their search for Bucky or some kind of domestic, social thing in the future. It strikes me, how lucky Steve was to meet Sam the morning he did.
I have also really enjoyed Maria Hill's character development after initially having an impression that I wouldn't like her, so I would enjoy maybe something about her between her two film appearances so far.
And I would really, really enjoy some Bucky hurt/comfort. I would especially appreciate it if it sensitively handled his rehabilitation. Steve (and others) being patient with him and trying to help him remember how to be human would be very satisfying.
It might also be fun to read a slice of life fic for Sam before he met Steve, working as a counselor at the VA and just doing something in general in a world where aliens attacked New York.
I'm really flexible about this--just anything that strikes your fancy about ANY of these characters with the couple of limits above.
Pretty Little LiarsRequest #3:Characters: Spencer Hastings, Aria Montgomery
I have been dying to read a thoughtful bit of fic about them. I have started to ship them a lot over time, but I also just have been really impressed upon occasional rewatches of earlier episode how little I took for granted their connection upon my first watch. I love that they both have similar skills but that their personalities manifest so differently, and I am actually in the process of finishing the most recent episodes and Spencer's voicemail that she was going to leave for Aria but then let erase when she ran out of time completely gutted me emotionally.
It doesn't have to be romantic (and if you prefer for it not to be, I am completely fine with exploration of either of them's canon romantic interests!), but I very much want something that involves their friendship and protecting each other. Something dangerous, something fun--both. Anything!
Hawkeye (Comics)Request #4Characters: Kate Bishop, Clint Barton
I should note that I am behind and at the time of writing this letter have not read past when Kate came to pick Lucky up to go on their trip to California. I plan to have caught up by the time this exchange happens, but just wanted to let any potential writer know!
That said, I have been dying to read something more about the fact that Kate and Clint's relationship is complicated and gray at the best they can do. I am open on the subject of whether or not it is shippy because I myself feel so conflicted and undecided. But give me something that doesn't necessarily draw punches about how Clint's a car crash and Kate is perfect. How they are breaking one another's strides and how they still have something deeply connected between them. I'd be really happy with something that talked about the age difference as the writer perceives not just in terms of taboo but in how it affects their relationship even though both of them maybe like to pretend it doesn't.
ChuckRequest #5Characters: Chuck Bartowski, Sarah Walker, John Casey
Getting into Chuck has been relatively recent for me and so I am still watching S1. I don't want to put too much pressure on myself, but feel free to use references up through the conclusion of S2 to give you some wiggle room.
I absolutely love the three-person dynamic between the three of them and would love anything about it, honestly.
Chuck and Sarah both get POV scenes a lot, but we very rarely have gotten one from Casey so far. And yet, it's obvious to me that he has been growing to care not only about Chuck but about Sarah, too. He looks after them, and it really does seem genuinely heroic in a surprising way. Something from his POV about both or either of them that tracked his progression of caring for them would be really interesting.
Sarah's relationship with Bryce seems to me to be one where he really takes advantage of her affections for him while sort of twisting things so it seems like it's more reciprocal than it is. I am not going to judge whether he does that on purpose or not, but in Sarah's trusting other people she works with and cares for, more dealing with that kind of baggage carefully and in a way that helps her without just brushing it aside would warm my heart.
I love Chuck's relationship with his family, too. Anything about that would be fun and nice!
I am still a baby Chuck fan, but I really like it.
Torchwood Request #6Characters: Jack Harkness, Martha Jones
I was always disappointed that Martha did not actually come back to Torchwood after her guest appearance. I understand real world reasoning for why she did not, but I would have loved to get the opportunity to see her interact with Jack more. I really liked their bond formed through their shared devotion to the Doctor that doesn't seem to just revolve around a sense of rejection.
As mentioned in my dislikes, I don't like unrelentingly sad or hopeless endings, so there is a part of me that wants to look at a Torchwood story and see it as less deeply dark.
I do ship Jack/Martha if it's even possible that anyone else does, but I would also enjoy their being friends--even years later--happier than Torchwood generally affords people being. They can pay a cost, but sometimes I think Torchwood required costs that were too high.

Thank you so much for the fic and good luck!
